25/05/05 - Swindon Labour Group Continues To Crumble

Stop Press...

A second Labour Councillor has resigned.

Cllr Sinead Darker, Central Ward has resigned from the Labour Group.

This follows last weeks resignation of Cllr David Wren, Dorcan Ward.

A disasterous start for Cllr Kevin Small, who was blighted by local election meltdown during his previous stint as the Labour Group Leader.

The Labour Group as recently as 2000 was the dominant force of Swindon politics for 25 years, however they have been in freefall ever since, paying the price for:

  • Rocketing Council Tax
  • Endless Waste & Mismanagement
  • Lowest Possible Rating For The Council

With several Labour Councillors worried about losing their seats in next May's local elections, this might not be the final resignation from the failing Labour Group.
